Emory & Henry Men’s & Women’s Golf Release Fall Season Schedule

EMORY, Va. – Emory & Henry College Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach Justin Harvey is pleased to announce the fall portion of his teams' schedule for the coming year. The men's team just completed its first season in 10 years, while the women will embark on their inaugural year this fall.

Both squads have four events scheduled in the months of September and October highlighted by the Emory & Henry Fall Classic. The two-day 36-hole event will be played on Monday, October 2 and Tuesday, October 3 at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon.

The E&H men open the year at the Tom Kinder Memorial, hosted by Bridgewater College at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The event will run from Monday, September 11 to Tuesday, September 12.

After its home tournament, the Wasps will go on the road for the final two competitions of the fall. The 68th VSGA Intercollegiate will be held at Stonehenge Golf & Country Club in Richmond, Virginia on Monday, October 16 and Tuesday, October 17.

The final event is Guilford College's O'Briant-Jensen Memorial (Mon., Oct. 23-Tue., Oct. 24). The Dye Course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina will serve as the arena for the competition.

"I'm extremely excited about this season. We have a lot of talent returning as well as some extremely skilled newcomers," commented Harvey. "The mixture forecasts a bright future for Emory & Henry Men's Golf."

On the women's side, Emory & Henry will play its first-ever tournament on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 at the Shenandoah Invitational. The event will be held at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, Virginia.

A quick turnaround sees the Wasps compete at the Bridgewater Fall Invitational on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24 at Lakeview GC.

After the Emory & Henry Fall Classic, the Wasps wrap up the fall portion of their season with a single-day event hosted by Hollins University at the Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork, Virginia.

"I'm happy to be a part of such an exciting time here at E&H. These young women are eager to get this program started and we will be laying the framework for the future," Harvey added.

The spring portion of the schedule will be released later this fall once it is completed.
