Emory & Henry Men’s Soccer Adds Juan Mascaro As Assistant Coach

EMORY, Va. - Emory & Henry College Head Men's Soccer Coach Robert Richardson is pleased to announce Juan Mascaro will join his staff as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach for the 2016 season.

Mascaro comes to E&H following the completion of his studies at Brevard College. While at the North Carolina school, he was a goalkeeper for the men's soccer program and a two-year team captain. Off the field, Mascaro was heavily involved on campus as a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society for Business Management & Administration, Vice President of the Business Club, served as an Athletic Department Compliance intern, a Resident Advisor and a member of the International Club. 

Mascaro was a four-year letterwinner on the boys' soccer team at Brevard High School. He was a two-time All-Conference and All-Region selection, team captain, coaches' award winner, Senior Class President, Junior Marshall, and on the A/AB Honor Roll.

Mascaro spent the 2015 season as the goalkeepers coach for the Brevard women's soccer program. The team tied program records for shutouts, fewest goals allowed in a season and highest save percentage in the NCAA era. He is currently a member of the North Carolina Olympic Development Program coaching staff and has also coached a variety of age groups at the youth level, with the Brevard Soccer Academy.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and organizational leadership from Brevard College. Mascaro is currently working on a master's degree in sport management from Georgia Southern University.
