Nathan Kish is entering his second season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Emory & Henry College. Kish comes to E&H from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where he served as an assistant coach for the 2010 season.
In his first year at E&H, Kish led the Wasps to a three-game improvement over their 2010 record. E&H was in many of its matches through the year, with seven of its losses coming by one goal and two setbacks in overtime. Kish saw senior forward P.J. Henson become the Emory & Henry all-time leading scorer with a goal against Averett in the third match of the seaon. Henson finished his career with 27 goals.
While at Catholic, Kish was part of a program that posted an 11-6-4 record in 2010 and won the Landmark Conference Championship, advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament. His primary duties included planning and assisting in daily training sessions and individual player development, opponent scouting, recruiting and campus visit coordination.
During the 2009 season, Kish was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Capital University. While there, he helped guide the Crusaders to a 16-5-2 record, an Ohio Athletic Conference Championship and a NCAA Division III Tournament berth. Kish also served as the head coach of the JV team while coordinating visits for recruits, fundraising, alumni player relations and serving as an assistant coach to the Capital women’s soccer team.
After completing his playing career, Kish went to Frostburg State University as a graduate assistant coach for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. While there, the Bobcats posted a two-year record of 26-14-2. Kish was charged with directing FSU’s youth tournament, community service and fundraising and travel while also handling recruiting and alumni player relations.
Kish played collegiately at Capital University where, as a four year letter winner, he was integral to building that program into a strong contender and a Division III national power.
Kish completed a bachelor’s degree in physical education at Capital in 2007, and received a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in physical education and business administration from Frostburg State in 2009. Kish's uncle, Tim, is currently an Assistant Football Coach for the University of Oklahoma, and has coached college football for over three decades. A Columbus, Ohio native, Kish now resides in Abingdon.

Stephen Cavallo is entering his first season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Emory & Henry College. He will also serve at the Goalkeeper Coach for the E&H Women’s Soccer Team. Cavallo comes to Emory from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina where he served as the goalkeeper coach for the Crusaders’ women’s team during the spring of 2013.
Prior to his work at Belmont Abbey, Cavallo was the Head Varsity Boy’s Soccer Coach at Allegany High School in Cumberland, Maryland. In two years at Allegany, his teams posted an overall 21-7-3 record. In 2012, Cavallo led Allegany to an undefeated regular season – the first in school history. Allegany also set school records for wins (15), consecutive wins (11) and longest unbeaten streak (16 matches), as well as goals scored in a season (71), fewest goals allowed in a season (5), and shutouts (12). For his efforts, Cavallo was selected the 2012 Pepsi-Cola High School Soccer Coach of the Year.
Cavallo, a native of Charlotte, N.C., has also coached club and high school soccer in his home state. He was also the men’s goalkeeper coach at Frostburg State University during the spring of 2012.
Cavallo played for two seasons at Warren Wilson College before transferring to Frostburg State to finish out his junior and senior years, where he was a two-year starter in goal.
A prep standout at East Lincoln High School in Denver, N.C., Cavallo was named to the All-Region Team his senior season. He also played for North Meck Soccer Club throughout his high school career.
Cavallo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in geography from Frostburg State, which he completed in the summer of 2012.
