AIKEN, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Baseball Team (0-2) fell in game two of a three-game weekend series to the University of South Carolina Aiken (5-0) Saturday afternoon. The Pacers tallied 10 runs in the first inning on their way to the 17-2 win.

How It Happened
The Wasps were first on the board in the top of the first inning when junior outfielder Jadden Rodriguez (Thomasville, N.C.) singled, moved up on a groundout and came around to score on an RBI single from junior first baseman J.D. James (China Grove, N.C.) to make it 1-0. The Pacers exploded for 10 runs on eight hits and an error to jump ahead 10-1. USCA would go on to add three runs in the second and two more in the third to push their advantage out to 15-1.
Emory & Henry pushed across another run in the top of the fifth when Rodriguez and James each drew a walk to put a runner in scoring position. Senior third baseman Drew Park (Mooresville, N.C.) delivered an RBI single to plate Rodriguez and make it 15-2. The Pacers would add two more runs in the home half of the eighth inning while keeping the Wasps scoreless to earn the 17-2 victory.
Nick Napolitano earned the win on the mound for the Pacers, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out a pair of batters. Sophomore righty Cole Gillis (Charlotte, N.C.) was saddled with the loss for E&H after giving up 10 runs, four earned, on seven hits and a pair of walks while recording just a pair of outs. James and Park recorded the lone RBIs for the Wasps. The Pacers saw six different batters collect a pair of hits apiece.
