Intermont Equestrian IHSA Sweeps Weekend At Western Carolina

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry IHSA team captured back-to-back wins this weekend, earning a total of 19 blue ribbons, a perfect score on Saturday, and a clean sweep of the Equitation on the Flat divisions on Sunday.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/10
LOCATION – Asheville, North Carolina
VENUE - Over the River Farm

The Results
- Starting the weekend strong, freshman Nada Soueidan (Williamsburg, Va.) topped the Open Equitation Over Fences and Open Equitation on the Flat divisions.  
- In the intermediate division, sophomore Ella Bramer (East Amherst, N.Y.) continued the winning streak, winning both the over fences and the flat.  
- Senior Alexa Zorbas (Purcellville, Va.) took fourth place in Limit Equitation Over Fences section A, while junior Grace Simpson (Culpepper, Va.) took 3rd in section B. 
- It was all blue ribbons for our Limit Equitation on the flat riders. Senior Isabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) took the win in section A, sophomore Caroline Hall (Bostic, NC) won section B, and freshman Rylie Miller (Bernville, Pa.) topped section D. 
- Junior Cetari White-Anderson (Clatskaine, Ore.) picked up second place in the Novice Equitation section A, while junior Julia Seery (Colebrook, Ct.) finished first in section B. In the Pre-Novice Equitation division, sophomore Kella Clark (Newland, N.C.) took the win. 
- Introductory competition concluded the day with sophomore Megan Cassell (Marion, Va.) taking fourth in section A and sophomore Elana Trejo (Rustburg, Va.) taking first in section B. 

The Awards
- Souiedan was High-Point Rider of the Day, and Bramer was Reserve High-Point rider.
- The team was High-Point Team of the Day with a perfect score of 49 points.

The Results
- The Open Equitation division saw freshman Nada Soueidan (Williamsburg, Va.) finish first on the flat and second place over fences. 
-  Freshman Rylie Miller (Bernville, Pa.) rode E&H's Iggy to a 3rd place finish in Intermediate Equitation Over Fences. Junior Olivia Del Pinal (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) took the win in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat. 
-  Junior Grace Simpson (Culpepper, Va.) finished second in Limit Equitation Overfences section A, while juniorCaylee Ostendorf (Goldsboro, N.C.) rode E&H's Tanner to a fourth-place finish in section B. 
- Senior Isabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) and sophomore Caroline Hall (Bostic, NC) each won their sections of Limit Equitation on the Flat. 
-  Continuing our flat winning streak, junior Cetari White-Anderson  (Clatskanie, Ore.) and junior Julia Seery (Colebrook, Ct.) each won their sections of Novice Equitation. Junior Norah Jones (Buchanan, Va.) topped the Pre-Novice equitation division.
- Introductory competition saw freshmanHaylie Dowell (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) and sophomore  Megan Cassell (Marion, Va.) win their sections. 

The Awards
- Soueidan was High-Point rider of the day.
- The team was High-Point team of the day, winning every flat division. 

Special Shoutout
Emory & Henry Equestrian brought two horses this weekend, Iggy and Tanner. Both boys helped several competitors to great rides and ribbons in their respective divisions.

- Emory & Henry will host a doubleheader IHSA competition Saturday, November 15th, and Sunday, November 16th, to close out the fall season.
