Intermont Equestrian IDA Kicks Off Spring Season With Win

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team started off the spring semester with a win this Saturday, as well as taking both High-Point Rider and Reserve High-Point Rider.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/6
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

First Level
Starting us off in First level, junior Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) took home third place with a 67.407% aboard Kygo, as well as senior Willow Palmer (Lebanon, N.J.), who took home fifth place with a 66.666% on Taco.

Upper Training Level
Junior Cetari White-Anderson (Clatskanie, Ore.) earned a 71.551% on Grace to take home the blue and Reserve High-Point Rider. Freshman Olivia Edgington-Desmet (Alpharetta, Ga) rode to second place aboard Goodie with a 69.482%

Lower Training Level
Sophomore Samantha Nappi (Bedford, Mass.) claimed a win in the division on Iggy with a 70.142%, and junior Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) was close behind with a 67.5% aboard Iggy to place second

Introductory Level
Sophomore Eva Packman (Spotsylvania, Va.) laid down a 72.5% to win the division on Henri as well as take home High-Point Rider, while Junior Isabelle Bussolotta (Easton, Conn.) rode to a 64.687% to finish third aboard Nobel

The Awards
Emory & Henry won the show with 21 points (71.414% team average).

Packman was the High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her win in Introductory with a 72.5%

White-Anderson took Reserve High-Point Rider, with a 71.551% and a blue ribbon in Upper Training.

Dressage Seat Equitation
In Upper Training, freshman Téa Fuller (Little Valley, N.Y.) took home the blue aboard Ted, followed by sophomore Caroline Hall (Bostic, N.C.), who rode to first place in her IDA debut also aboard Ted. Sophomore Irelyn Petrie (Nokesville, Va) rode to second place on Charlie. 

In Lower Training, Junior Norah Jones (Buchanan, Va.) took first place on Alijano, and sophomore  Lauren Scott (Otego, N.Y.) also placed first aboard Seal.

In our last class of the day, sophomore Mary Robbinette (Lincolnton, N.C.)  took home the blue aboard Fallon in her collegiate debut, and sophomore Sierra Carson (Pasadena, Md.) took second place riding Fallon in Introductory level.

The Wasps will return to IDA this upcoming Saturday by hosting once again.
