Intermont Equestrian Hosts Doubleheader Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University IHSA Team finished out regular season competition with a double-header day on Saturday.

Show 1 Basics
TEAM PLACE – 4th/10
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Intermont Equestrian Center

The Results
OPEN
- Kicking off the double-header day, freshman Nada Soueidan (Williamsburg, Va.) took the win aboard Nobel in Open Overfences. She was followed by senior Sofia Patton (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), who had an excellent ride, also aboard Nobel.

- On the flat, Souiedan rode to first in section A on her draw Ferris, while junior Olivia Del Pinal (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) took the win in section B. 

INTERMEDIATE
- Sophomore Gabriella Cotler (Livingston, N.J.) took the win aboard Taco in Intermediate Overfences. The competition also saw seniors Isabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Natalie Ross (Buckhead, Ga.) lay down solid trips aboard Izzy and Ted.

- On the flat, senior Mikaela Spain (Arlington, Va.) took third aboard Berger, and Oglesby put in a great ride on Ryder. 

LIMIT
- In Limit Overfences, senior Alexa Zorbas (Purcellville, Va.) took sixth aboard Imani in section A. In section B, senior Mia King (Bluff City, Tenn.) and sophomore Irelyn Petrie (Nokesville, Va.) both rode Charlie to fifth and sixth place, respectively. 

- On the flat, junior Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) took the win on Viri, while senior Leah VandenBerg (Camillus, N.Y.) finished 6th in section B. 

NOVICE
- Novice competition saw junior Kaylee Papa (Greencastle, Pa.) make her collegiate debut aboard Gena, taking third place in her section. Junior Norah Jones (Falls Church, Va.) also finished third in her section, riding Splash.

The Awards
- Souiedan finished High-Point rider thanks to her wins in Open Overfences and Flat.

The Results

OPEN
- Freshman Nada Soueidan (Williamsburg, Va.) started day two competition with a third-place finish aboard Santos in Open Overfences. Senior Sofia Patton (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) finished fifth aboard Kato. 

- On the flat, Souiedan took third on Lottie, while freshman Olivia Edgington-Desmet (Alpharetta, Ga.) finished fourth aboard Ferris.

INTERMEDIATE
- In Intermediate Overfences, senior Isabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) and junior Grace Simpson (Culpeper, Va.) laid down lovely trips, both riding Izzy, and senior Natalie Ross (Buckhead, Ga.) had a nice round on Bravo. 

- Seniors Oglesby and Alexa Zorbas (Purcellville, Va.) both topped their section of Intermediate Flat on Kygo and Disco, respectively. 

LIMIT
-  Limit Overfences saw junior Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) take second place aboard Collette. Senior Mia King rode to fifth place riding Ted, while Zorbas took sixth place on Scout. 

- Senior Leah VandenBerg (Camillus, N.Y.) topped her section of Limit Flat aboard Piper, qualifying her for the Zone 4, Region 5 Championships on Sunday. 

NOVICE
-  Senior Emma Smith (Red Lion, Pa.) rode Splash to a third-place finish in her section of Novice Flat. Sophomore Danielle Kirby (Hayesville, N.C.) made her collegiate debut, also on Splash, finishing sixth in her section.
