Intermont Equestrian IHSA Places Fourth At Zone IV Finals

Towson, Md. - Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University traveled north this past weekend to compete in the Zone IV Championships. The Wasps fought hard and rode well, finishing fourth overall with multiple top-three finishes. 

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 4th/5
LOCATION – Towson, Maryland
HOST – Goucher College
VENUE – Goucher Stables

Team Competition
Freshman Nada Souiedan (Williamsburg, Va.) started the day with a third-place finish in Open Over Fences. Freshman Olivia Edgington-Desment (Alpharetta, Ga.) rode to a fifth-place finish in Open Equitation on the Flat. 

In Intermediate competition, seniorIsabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va) was fourth Over Fences and third on the Flat.

SophomoreCaroline Hall (Bostic, N.C.) rode to a third-place finish in Limit Equitation Over Fences, while Junior Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) finished third on the Flat. 

Novice Equitation on the Flat saw junior Julia Seery (Colebrook, Ct.) earn third, and freshman Haylie Dowell (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) rode to a stunning first-place finish in Introductory. 

Individual Competition
Souiedan qualified for the IHSA National Championships Cacchione Cup, placing second. She also rode to eighth-place finishes in Open Fences and Flat. 

Junior Olivia Del Pinal (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) rode to a beautiful fifth-place finish in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat. 

Oglesby finished tenth in Limit Equitation Over Fences. 

Sophomore Elana Trejo (Rustburg, Va.) finished out our day, riding to a fourth-place finish in Introductory. 

Next Up
Emory & Henry's IDA team will be traveling to St. Louis, MO, to compete at the IDA National Championship April 22nd- 24th. 

Souiedan will travel to Tryon, NC, to represent E&H in the Cacchione Cup at the IHSA National Championships, May 1st-3rd.
