LANCASTER, Pa. - Emory & Henry University senior defensive back Shawn Collins (Salem, Va.) has been recognized nationally as he was named to the 2025 D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List. Collins was selected to the Defensive First Team.

Collins finished the 2024 season with 38 tackles, six interceptions, eight additional break-ups and a blocked kick. His six interceptions ranked tied for third in the nation. Collins came up huge as he blocked a potential game-winning field goal to clinch a 23-21 victory over Tusculum University. He posted six tackles, one interception and a season-high four pass break-ups in a win against Bluefield State University and followed up with a season-high eight tackles, 1.5 for loss, in the win over No. 17 Carson-Newman. Collins rounded out his season with a pair of interceptions in the season finale victory against Newberry. For his performances on the gridiron he was selected SAC All-Mountain Division, D2CCA All-Super Region Two First Team and a Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American. 

The D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with the input of numerous sitting head coaches as well as professional football scouting veteran Josh Buchanan. 

Emory & Henry gets the 2025 season underway on Saturday, August 30 when the Wasps square off in a neutral site showdown against non-conference opponent Glenville State University at Herbert Hoover High School in Elkview, West Virginia.
