Ean Rhea Named SAC We Played Sports Football Defensive Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Emory & Henry University junior defensive lineman Ean Rhea (Glade Spring, Va.) has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for week four. This year, the SAC Player of the Week is sponsored by WePlayed Sports.

Rhea had seven tackles, three sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a pair of quarterback hurries in the Wasps' 42-13 win over South Atlantic Conference opponent Anderson (S.C.) University. Rhea now leads the SAC in both sacks (5.5) and tackles for loss (9.5).

This marks the fourth time this season that an E&H player has earned weekly league honors after Jordan Jackson was named Offensive Player of the Week in week zero, A.J. Burgess was named Defensive Player of the Week for week three and Cam Peoples was named Special Teams Player of the Week for week four. 

Emory & Henry (4-1, 3-1 SAC) is at home this Saturday, October 4 when the Wasps host Carson-Newman University for Sports Hall of Fame Induction and Military and First Responder Appreciation Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Fred Selfe Stadium at Nicewonder Field.
