BROOKFIELD, Ill. - The Don Hansen Football Committee has released the 2025 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team. Junior defensive lineman Ean Rhea (Glade Spring, Va.) was selected to the Second Team Defense while senior defensive back Shawn Collins (Salem, Va.) was chosen as an Honorable Mention.
Rhea collects another honor for his play during the 2025 season after being named the Touchdown Club of Richmond's Defensive Lineman of the Year, as well as being selected South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, All-SAC First Team Defense, D2CCA All-Super Region II First Team and AFCA First Team All-American.
Rhea led the SAC and was tied for fifth in the nation with 12 sacks. He also registered 50 tackles, 17.5 for loss, and forced a trio of fumbles. Rhea registered at least .5 sacks in nine separate games, including three in a 42-13 victory over Anderson (S.C.) University. Rhea had seven tackles, three sacks for 15 yards lost, 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble against the Trojans, leading to him being awarded SAC Defensive Player of the Week and NCAA.com Division II Football National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.
It is the second consecutive year that Collins has received All-American honors after being named a Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mention following the 2024 season. Collins was selected to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team Defense and was picked for the AFCA Second Team for the 2025 season. He recorded 44 tackles, four for loss, while forcing a fumble and recovering another. Collins finished the year with three interceptions and five pass breakups.
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
