Lincoln Memorial's offense would come to life over the rest of the quarter, putting up six unanswered goals to give them the 10-4 lead heading into the half.
- Mills got E&H back on the scoreboard just 27 seconds into the second half with an unassisted goal to pull E&H back within five at 10-5. After an LMU goal, sophomore David Mewes (Greenville, S.C.) joined the party with an unassisted score of his own to reduce the deficit to 11-6. The Railsplitters made it 12-6 90 seconds later, but the E&H offense would finish the quarter with a flourish. Nguyen recorded a goal, Mills followed 90 seconds after him and Nguyen scored his second of the game with 2:18 left in the period to close the gap to just three at 12-9 heading into the final frame.
