Emory & Henry Men's Soccer Chosen 12th In SAC Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Soccer Team has been picked to finish 12th in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Tuesday.

Last year, Emory & Henry finished was 0-15 with an 0-11 mark against league opponents. The Wasps welcome six new players, evenly split between three freshmen and three transfers, for a total squad size of 32.

Defending SAC Tournament Champion Limestone University is the favorite to win the regular season as it earned eight of 12 first-place votes. Wingate University, which took home last year's regular season crown, is second with three top nods while Lenoir-Rhyne University is third and Lincoln Memorial University is fourth. Tusculum University garnered the final first-place pick and is ninth in the poll.

 

Emory & Henry will open the preseason on Thursday with an exhibition match at Virginia Military Institute at 1:00 p.m. The Wasps will also play scrimmages at Bluefield University (Wed., Aug. 28) and at Carolina University (Sat., Aug. 31). E&H kicks off the regular season at Shaw University on Thursday, September 5.
