EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Tennis Teams, under the direction of Head Coach Christine Johnston, have announced their schedule for the fall 2019 season. This year, the Wasps will play three dual matches and compete in the ITA South Regional Championships.
E&H will get the season started on Sunday as it hosts Maryville (Tenn.) College at noon. The season continues on Wednesday, September 25 for both teams as they enter Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at Washington and Lee University. The squads close out the fall on Tuesday, October 1 with a match at Johnson University.
On the men's side, the Wasps will participate in the ITA South Region Championships for the first time since the 2014-15 season. This year's regional will be hosted by Berry College on the weekend of Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22.
The E&H women make their first appearance at ITA Regionals since the fall of 2015. Berry will also serve as the site for the women's championships between Friday, September 27 and Sunday, September 29.
Emory & Henry will play the biggest portion of its schedule in the spring, including the remainder of its league matches. Both teams are coming off strong seasons in which the women went 14-7 (6-6 ODAC) and reached the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals while the men were 9-8 for their first winning season since 2012-13.
