EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-3) and Women's Tennis Team (1-2) split a pair of matches with Johnson (Tenn.) University in non-conference play Wednesday afternoon. The Wasps' women's team took down the Royals by a 6-1 scoreline while the men fell by a 6-1 margin.

Men's Match
- The doubles team of senior Diego Alvarez (Bogota, COLOMBIA) and sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) took down Emanuel Casco and Lennart Kleeberg by a 7-5 score at No. 1 doubles. The Royals won the other two doubles matches for a 1-0 advantage.
- Senior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) dropped a tough 5-7, 4-6 decision to Casco at No. 2 singles.
- Senior Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) fell in three sets by a 4-6, 6-2, 0-1 (4-10) score to Benjamin Berrios at the No. 3 singles spot.
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) topped Gabor Szabo 8-6 at No. 5 singles.
Women's Match
- The Wasps earned a clean sweep in the doubles portion of the match for the early 1-0 lead. Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) and junior Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) defeated Berkley Clark and Averie Stalnaker 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Seniors Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) and Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) were victorious by a 6-2 margin over Marina Lasneaux and Maria Ponce at No. 2 doubles. Junior Meghan Moore (Midlothian, Va.) and sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) shut out Bella Stigall and Kambria Gore 6-0 at the No. 3 doubles spot.
- Sesma beat Lasneaux 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position.
- Williams defeated Clark by a 6-0, 7-5 scoreline in No. 3 singles.
- Kovacs won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
- Bradley dominated Ponce by a 6-2, 6-0 scoreline at No. 5 singles.
- Moore bested Caroline Rhoton 6-3, 6-0 in No. 6 singles.
