North Greenville Women's Tennis Defeats Emory & Henry In Non-Conference Contest Tuesday

TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-5) and Women's Tennis Team (1-4) dropped a pair of non-conference road matches to North Greenville University Tuesday afternoon. The Trailblazers won the men's match by a 7-0 score, before taking the women's match 6-1.

Men's Match
- The Trailblazers won all three doubles matches to establish an early 1-0 advantage.
- Senior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) fell 1-6, 2-6 to Wil Hernandez at No. 1 singles.
- Senior Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) was defeated 1-6, 3-6 by Dean Kingsley at the No. 2 singles position.
- Sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) put up a fight, but eventually fell to Xander Reeves by a 3-6, 6-7 (4-7) scoreline at No. 3 singles.
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) battled, but came up short 5-7, 5-7 to Jude Wilkey in their No. 4 singles match.
- Senior Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) was downed by Anthony Nguyen by a 2-6, 1-6 margin at No. 5 singles.
- Freshman Spencer Richard (Lenoir, N.C.) fell 2-6, 0-6 to Jacob Johnson at the No. 6 singles spot.

Women's Match
- North Greenville swept the doubles portion of the match to take a 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) pushed her match with Abigail Watson at the No. 1 singles spot to three sets, but came up just short by a 7-5, 2-6, 0-1 (7-10) score.
- Junior Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) was defeated 4-6, 2-6 by Julia Machado at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) fell 5-7, 0-6 to Adriana Flores in their No. 3 singles match.
- Senior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) dropped her No. 4 singles match to Andjela Mrvaljevic by a 3-6, 0-6 scoreline.
- Senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) picked up a win for the Wasps at No. 5 singles as she defeated Mikayla McKenzie 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) was downed by a 0-6, 0-6 score against Lauren Harrelson at No. 6 singles.
