The NCAA's regional rankings are the official means of determining the field of teams for the national postseason. Combined with automatic bids given to conference champions, the Division II Softball Committee uses these rankings to select the eight teams from each region for the playoffs.
Emory & Henry (31-19) finished the 2025 regular season with a 12-12 South Atlantic Conference record, good for a three-way tie for seventh place in the league standings. The 31 wins are the most in the program's NCAA Division II era and tie for third-most in program history.
Francis Marion University is the top team in the region, holding a 43-3 overall record. The Patriots are also ranked No. 2 in the country by the NFCA. Second in the region is University of North Georgia while Wingate University is No. 3 and Lenoir-Rhyne University is No. 4.
E&H is one of five members of the SAC to be noted in the rankings as Lenoir-Rhyne University, Lincoln Memorial University, Tusculum and Wingate University are also listed.
Emory & Henry will get the South Atlantic Conference Tournament started this weekend as the #7 seed. The Wasps travel to #2 Lenoir-Rhyne for a best-of-three series on Saturday (2:00 p.m.) and Sunday (noon).
