Game One – Emory & Henry 9, Mansfield 0
Both teams were held scoreless through the first two frames thanks to excellent pitching from Malorie Reeves (Galax, Va.) and Britni Motter on the other side. E&H would get things going in the top of the 3rd with a solo shot from Rachel Hill (Stanardsville, Va.), the Wasps weren't done yet Hannah Booth (Longwood, Fla.) doubled and Sawyer Tolley (Bedford, Va.) and Liberty Johnson (Arvonia, Va.) both drew walks. This set the stage for Tristyn Tofano (Roanoke, Va.) who doubled to left field and brought all runners home for a 4-0 advantage.
Both pitchers held the game in check until the 6th inning where the Wasps flexed their bats. Tofano and Alex Graham (Thomasville, N.C.) both singled to the outfield. Karsen Simpson (Salisburt, N.C.) drew a walk to load the bases, Ashlyn Rachon ( Greeneville, Tenn.) walked to send Kali Cook (Elkin, N.C.) home. Natalie Moore (Kingsport, Tenn.) pinch ran for Rachon. Hill reached on a fielder's choice while Kylie Cundiff (Roanoke, Va.) was thrown out at home. The Wasps then executed the once in a blue moon triple steal, everyone was safe and another run was pushed across. Natalie Moore then stol home herself to push the E&H advantage to 7-0. Booth hit another RBI single and Tofano was walked with the bases loaded to score the final run of the day. Reeves did her part in the bottom of the 6th and the Wasps came away with the 9-0 run rule victory.
