Game One – Anderson 2, Emory & Henry 3
Anderson began Game 1 on the front foot, Carson Hobbs singled up the middle to bring in the first run of the game in the first frame. That lead wouldn't last as the Wasps responded immediately in their half. Sawyer Tolley (Bedford, Va.) got the scoring started for E&H with a single to left field that brought around Abigail Street (Glade Spring, Va.) to score, making it 1-0. The Wasps weren't done yet, Karsen Simpson (Salisbury, N.C.) laced a double to center field that sent Tolley and Hannah Booth (Longwood, Fla.) across home plate for the 3-1 advantage.
Both defenses settled in and 3-1 is where the score would stand until the top of the 6th. The Trojans cut in their deficit with a solo home run by Kadence Barrick to center field. But that would be as close as they would get. Malorie Reeves (Galax, Va.) threw a complete game, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 4 batters for the Senior Day win.
Game Two – Anderson 6, Emory & Henry 3
It was the Wasps who started Game 2 out in front. In the bottom of the 1st Tolley reached on a fielder's choice that brought around Rachel Hill (Stanardsville, Va.) to score the opening run. E&H added 2 more runs; one in the bottom of the 2nd with an RBI single to right field from Hill that scored Simpson from 2nd base and another in the bottom of the 3rd off an RBI single from Simpson for the 3-0 lead.
Anderson managed to claw their way back into the game beginning in the top of the 4th with another solo home run from Kadence Barrick. And a two run shot from Lauren Brakovec two innings later in the top of the 6th. Senior Day would require an extra frame as neither team could break the stalemate by the end of the 7th inning. Anderson pushed across 3 runs in the top of the 8th. The Wasps had their chance to win the game with bases loaded but the offense would stall giving the Trojans the Game 2 win.
