ATLANTA, Ga. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Basketball Team has received special mention for its accomplishments in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year, WBCA officials announced Tuesday. The WBCA is the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

E&H was named as a Special Mention for achieving a team GPA over 3.0. The Wasps finished with an overall GPA of 3.249 and are one of six South Atlantic Conference schools to receive recognition.
"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"
Other SAC schools to be recognized were the University of Virginia's College at Wise, Carson-Newman University, Wingate University, Tusculum University and Anderson (S.C.) University.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
