NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Basketball Team (1-3) fell on the road in non-conference play to Trevecca Nazarene (3-1) Sunday afternoon. The Trojans earned the victory by an 80-38 final scoreline.

How It Happened
- The Wasps took an early 6-2 lead in the opening 90 seconds thanks to a pair of three-point jumpers from junior forward Gracyn Hall (Randleman, N.C.), but the Trojans would respond with a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to jump ahead 14-6. E&H managed to pull back within five at 17-12 at the end of the first period.
- TNU controlled throughout the second quarter as the Trojans ran out to a commanding 42-20 lead heading into the halftime break.
- The Trojans' lead reached as many as 28 in the third quarter, but the Wasps answered with a 7-3 run to end the quarter and cut the deficit to 58-34 heading into the fourth.
- Trevecca Nazarene was dominant in the fourth quarter as the homestanding Trojans outscored the visitors from Emory 22-4 to take the 80-38 win.
Emory & Henry Leaders
- Graduate student forward Breanna Yarber (Meadowview, Va.) led the Wasps with 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block. Hall had six points and a pair of assists while freshman forward Hali Harris (Richmond, Va.) added four points and a trio of rebounds.
- Junior forward Paige Niethammer (Parrotsville, Tenn.) finished with four points, three rebounds, one assist and a steal for E&H in the loss.
Trevecca Nazarene Individual Leaders
- Tatum Shaw went for a game-high 20 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal while Cheyenne Trotter posted a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot.
- Jayda Woods registered seven points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals and a pair of blocks. Shinae Howard Johnson collected 11 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals off of the bench for the Trojans.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot just 24.5 percent (13-for-53) from the field, hitting three three-pointers (15.8%). The Wasps went 9-for-12 (75.0%) at the free throw line.
- Trevecca Nazarene made 30-of-65 (46.2%) of their shots and were 10-for-26 (38.5%) from long range. The Trojans made just 62.5 percent (10-of-16) of their free throws.
- TNU held a 48-32 rebounding advantage, and led 34-20 on points in the painted area.
- The Trojans forced 26 turnovers and converted those into 34 points, while turning the ball over 17 times. Those mistakes were turned into just 10 points by the Wasps.
- TNU dominated on the fastbreak, outscoring the Wasps 27-0.
