BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Wrestling Team (0-10, 0-8 Carolinas) dropped ends of a Conference Carolinas tri-match against the University of Montevallo (6-3, 5-3 Carolinas) and Bluefield State University (1-4, 1-4 Carolinas) Tuesday evening. The Falcons defeated the Wasps 47-6 in the first dual before the Big Blue topped the visitors from Emory by a 35-9 scoreline.

The Montevallo Match
- The dual began at 30-6 in favor of the Falcons due to forfeits at 125, 133, 165, 184, 197 and 285 pounds.
- Senior Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) earned a win by forfeit at 125 pounds.
- Junior Logan Arnold (Rocky Mount, Va.) dropped a tough 9-3 decision to Chad Strickland at 141 pounds.
- Sophomore Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) put up a valiant effort at 174 pounds, but eventually fell by a 10-8 decision to Aiden Knight.

The Bluefield State Match
- The dual began at 18-6 in favor of Bluefield State due to forfeits at 133, 141, 149, 165 and 285 pounds.
- Arnold picked up a win by forfeit at 141 pounds.
- Gaberrete dispatched Thomas Dolo at 174 pounds by a convincing 10-4 decision.
- Freshman Zane Perkins (Wytheville, Va.) battled, but was defeated by fall in 3:26 by Kairyn Hall at 157 pounds.

- Emory & Henry is back in action on Wednesday, January 29 when the Wasps travel to take on the Lions of Emmanuel (Ga.) University in a Conference Carolinas dual. First bout is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the Shaw Athletic Center.
