LEXINGTON, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Wrestling Team (0-1) dropped a tough road dual against NCAA Division I opponent Virginia Military Institute (1-0) Friday night. The Keydets earned six pins and a technical fall on their way to a 59-0 win.

- Freshman Landen Wilson (West Jefferson, N.C.) was defeated by fall by Malachi Ortiz in 4:02 at 125 pounds.
- Freshman Luke Osborne (Crumpler, N.C.) was pinned in 1:38 by Patrick Jordon at the 149 pound weight class.
- Fifth-year Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) was beaten by fall in 1:04 against VMI's Ray Cmil at 157 pounds.
- Junior Sebastian Gabarrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) jumped ahead with an early takedown, but was eventually pinned in 4:28 by JT Bowers in their 165 pound bout.
- Freshman Colton Lewis (Tarboro, N.C.) was bested by fall in 1:51 by Beau Lewis at the 174 pound weight class.
- Freshman Raul Lopez-Aguilar (Ronda, N.C.) was defeated by fall by Gideon Gerber in 1:48 at 184 pounds.
- Freshman Seaton Tallent (Dandridge, Tenn.) battled, but was beaten by a 19-4 technical fall scoreline in 2:22 against Cole Will at 285 pounds.
