BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-4) and Women's Tennis Team (1-3) fell in non-conference play to border rival King (Tenn.) University Saturday afternoon. The Tornado took wins in both matches by 6-1 margins.

Men's Match
- The Tornado swept all three doubles matches to jump ahead 1-0.
- Senior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) was defeated by Danny Neleman at No. 1 singles by a 2-6, 1-6 scoreline.
- Senior Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) battled, but came up short to Bar Meshel at No. 2 singles 3-6, 5-7.
- Sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) fell to Lucas Machado at No. 3 singles 2-6, 1-6.
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) picked up the lone win for the Wasps, defeating Rohan Chalisgaonkar in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles spot.
- Senior Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) was bested by Beckham Sylvester by a 1-6, 1-6 margin at No. 5 singles.
- Freshman Spencer Richard (Lenoir, N.C.) dropped a 0-6, 1-6 decision to Ben Jones in the No. 6 singles position.
Women's Match
- The doubles team of senior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) and senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) downed Ruth Robison and Rani Malhoe by a 6-3 margin at No. 2 doubles. The Tornado won the other two doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) fell 2-6, 0-6 to Deniz Aytun at No. 1 singles.
- Junior Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) was defeated by Malhoe by a 1-6, 2-6 score at the No. 2 singles spot.
- Sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) was bested by Shelby Tranchita by a 2-6, 4-6 margin in the No. 3 singles spot.
- Williams earned her second win of the day, defeating Robison 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
- Bradley fell 5-7, 3-6 to Trinity Moore in their No. 5 singles match.
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) lost her No. 6 singles match 1-6, 2-6 to Sarah Hale.
