EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-9, 0-3 SAC) and Women's Tennis Team (1-8, 0-3 SAC) were each defeated in South Atlantic Conference play by nationally-ranked Catawba College Saturday afternoon. The Catawba Indians earned both wins by 4-0 margins.

Men's Match
- The Catawba Indians earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take the point and the early 1-0 advantage. Seniors Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) and Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) were down 3-5 at No. 3 doubles, but the match was left unfinished.
- Senior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) was defeated 1-6, 0-6 by Agustin Mastri at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Bangalie Turay (Las Vegas, Nev.) trailed 3-6, 0-3 to Santiago Passoni at the No. 2 singles spot when their match was left unfinished.
- Glago was down 1-6, 3-4 to Mateo Berne in their No. 3 singles match when it was left unfinished.
- Sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) was behind 1-6, 3-3 to Luca Bergonzi in their No. 4 singles match, but it was unfinished.
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) was downed 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5 singles by Ryosuke Inagawa.
- Senn fell by a 0-6, 0-6 final to Alen Bill in their No. 6 singles match.
Women's Match
- Catawba won both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the point and 1-0 advantage. Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) and junior Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) were ahead 4-3 at No. 3 doubles, but the match was left unfinished due to the doubles point being clinched.
- Pursley was down 3-6, 1-4 to Sofia Antolini at No. 1 singles when the match was called.
- Sesma trailed by a 3-6, 0-3 score to Hanna Bougouffa at the No. 2 singles spot.
- Sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) came up short by a 2-6, 0-6 margin to Ami Miya in their No. 3 singles match.
- Senior Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) fell 1-6, 0-6 to Lili Drukerova at the No. 4 singles position.
- Senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) was down 2-6, 1-2 at No. 5 singles to Katya Kldiashvili when the match was abandoned.
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) was defeated 0-6, 2-6 by Agata Budnik at the No. 6 singles spot.
