Emory & Henry Women’s Tennis Falls To No. 34 Anderson On Senior Day

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-15, 0-8 SAC) and Women's Tennis Team (3-12, 1-7 SAC) fell to Anderson (S.C.) University Saturday afternoon. The Wasps honored the senior class of , Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.), Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.), Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.), Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND), Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) and Nina Williams (Fleet, ENGLAND) prior to the matches.

Men's Match
- The partnership of sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) and freshman Bangalie Turay (Las Vegas, Nev.) led 5-2 at No. 1 doubles, but their match was left unfinished. The Trojans took wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to lead 1-0.
- Spurling trailed 1-6, 4-5 to Mathis Collignon at No. 1 singles.
- Turay was down  0-6, 2-3 to Vicent Fenollar in their No. 2 singles match.
- Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) was downed 0-6, 1-6 by Wynn Shioi at No. 3 singles.
- Knothe dropped a 2-6, 0-6 decision to Spencer Dorosheff in their No. 4 singles match.
- Hicks was behind 4-6, 0-3 at No. 5 singles to Hamp Goldman.
- Senn was defeated 3-6, 3-6 by Sky Thavornchaisophon at No. 6 singles.

Women's Match
- Anderson earned a sweep of the doubles portion to jump ahead 1-0.
- Pursley fell to Alexandria Braithwaite 4-6, 0-6 in their No. 1 singles showdown.
- Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) was down 3-6 against Gigi Sompayrac at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) trailed Elena Ronconi 3-6, 1-1 at No. 3 singles.
- Bradley was trailing 1-6, 1-4 against Ensley Collins at No. 4 singles.
- Williams was swept 0-6, 0-6 by Mara Opre in their No. 5 singles match.
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) was defeated by a 0-6, 0-6 scoreline by Westlyn Morris at No. 5 singles.
