EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-17, 0-10 SAC) and Women's Tennis Team (3-14, 1-9 SAC) fell to Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference competition Tuesday afternoon.

Men's Match
- The Pioneers earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to jump ahead 1-0.
- Senior Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) trailed 1-6, 1-4 to Rens Verhaar at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Bangalie Turay (Las Vegas, Nev.) was defeated 2-6, 1-6 by Will Gee in their No. 2 singles match.
- Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) was behind 0-6, 2-4 to Angus Howard at No. 3 singles.
- Sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) forced a tiebreaker and was down 6-6 (4-6) to Kai Poelchau in their No. 4 singles match.
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) fell 3-6, 0-6 at No. 5 singles to Sarthak Sharma.
- Senior Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) was defeated 1-6, 1-6 by Shuzo Uemara at No. 6 singles.

Women's Match
- Tusculum won No. 3 doubles by default and edged a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles for the early 1-0 advantage.
- Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) was tied 5-5 against Ylva Frafjord Landa in their No. 1 singles match.
- Sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) was trailing 1-6, 2-2 to Emma Kotzmannova at No. 2 singles.
- Senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) was behind 2-6, 1-2 against Ginevra Moreno Villa at No. 3 singles.
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) was swept 0-6, 1-6 by Carla Guasch in their No. 4 singles match.
- The Pioneers earned wins by default at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
