Emory & Henry Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Tabbed 12th In SAC Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Emory & Henry University Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team has been picked to finish in 12th place in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Friday.

Defending SAC champion Wingate University has been chosen as favorites to repeat as league champions with 11 of the available 12 first-place votes. Catawba College is second, while Tusculum University is third with a top nod of its own. Lenoir-Rhyne University was chosen fourth, while Anderson (S.C.) University rounded out the top-five picks.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Athletes to Watch List with three Wasps earning the honor. Sophomore distance runner Tess Sommervell (Chilhowie, Va.), sophomore Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) and freshman thrower Chloe Spence (Riner, Va.) were all named athletes to watch for the 2026 season.
