Emory & Henry Volleyball Drops SAC Decision To Anderson Friday Evening

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Volleyball Team (3-18, 0-12 SAC) came up short on the road in South Atlantic Conference play to Anderson (S.C.) University (14-5, 9-2 SAC) Friday evening. The Trojans picked up the win by set scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-12.

How It Happened
- The Trojans were fast out of the gates as they took an early 10-3 advantage in the opening set. Anderson pushed its lead out to 15-6 at the midpoint, and finished off the frame with nine consecutive points for the 25-8 win and a one-set lead.
- AU continued its hot streak, winning the first seven points of the second stanza. The Wasps clawed back within five at 14-9, but the Trojans would go on an 11-3 run over the second half of the set for the 25-12 win and commanding two sets to none advantage.
- The third set was tighter from the onset and the Wasps trailed by just a pair at 12-10. The homestanding Trojans kicked into gear over the latter stages of the frame as they finished off the match on a 13-2 streak to clinch the set and match 25-12.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior outside hitter Grace Duey (Tega Cay, S.C.) led the way offensively for E&H with three kills, two digs and a service ace while sophomore outside hitter Tori Boling (Tega Cay, S.C.) added four kills and five digs. Junior middle Haley Harnichar (Sevierville, Tenn.) finished with two kills and a block.
- Sophomore setter Zoie Pace (Collinsville, Va.) recorded a team-high six assists and three digs. Freshman setter Sydni Davis (Cornelius, N.C.) went for five assists, two digs, one block and a kill.

Anderson Individual Leaders
- Kaydan Flowers posted six kills, two blocks, one dig and a service ace for the Trojans while Symone Wyatt added seven kills and a block.
- Ellie Nieporte had a match-high 22 assists and a dig. Mia Bennett collected 12 assists and two digs to go along with Jamie Juhnevicz's match-high 11 digs.

- Emory & Henry returns home on Tuesday, October 28 when the Wasps host the Eagles of Carson-Newman University for Croc Night. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from the John Rutledge King Center.
