ANDERSON, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Lacrosse Team (4-12, 1-8 SAC) fell on the road in South Atlantic Conference play to No. 25 Anderson (S.C.) University (10-6, 7-2 SAC) Saturday afternoon. The Trojans established a 15-4 halftime lead and held on for the 22-5 victory.

How It Happened
- Anderson put up the first five goals of the game, but the Wasps broke up the run with 8:50 remaining in the opening quarter. Graduate attack Mary Martinez (Estado de Mexico, MEXICO) scored on an assist from senior attack Bethany Beecher (Roanoke, Va.) to trim the gap to 5-1. The Trojans would score four more unanswered goals to push their advantage out to 9-1. E&H struck again just 33 seconds into the second quarter when junior attack Avery McHargue (Weaverville, N.C.) took a pass from sophomore midfielder Alex Costello (Johnson City, Tenn.) and beat the goalie to make it 9-2. After another Anderson score, McHargue converted on a free-position shot to run the score to 10-3. AU tallied four more goals to balloon the lead out to 14-3, before senior midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) put her name on the scoresheet with a goal on an assist from Martinez. One more Anderson goal made the score 15-4 at the half.
- The home team recorded the first two scores of the second half, but Jones added another goal with 7:03 left in the frame on an assist from sophomore attack Katie Kriley (Shady Valley, Tenn.) to make it 17-5. It was all Trojans for the remainder of the contest as they scored the final five goals of the game to earn the 22-5 win.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Jones finished with two goals, three ground balls, five draw controls and a caused turnover while McHargue had two goals and Martinez added a goal and an assist.
- Junior defender Megan D'Amore (Mooresville, N.C.) went for a game-high nine draw controls.
- Freshman goalie Madison Weaver (Forest, Va.) made four saves in goal while fellow freshman Ella James (Roanoke, Va.) added six saves in relief.
Anderson Individual Leaders
- Ava Scattareggia led all scorers with four goals and an assist. Ava Skeffington posted three goals while Megan Muir, Emma Toole, Rayne Dobson, Megan Cann and Alannah Bowling all recorded two scores.
- Megan Winters registered two stops in goal to earn the win for the Trojans.

- The Wasps are back at home for the final contest of the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 22 when they host Tusculum University. First draw is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. from the Food City Sports Complex.
