Emory & Henry Women’s Indoor Track & Field Wraps Up Competition At SAC Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Indoor Track & Field Team completed postseason play on day two of the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships Saturday. The Wasps broke a pair of program records as they finished in 12th place.

Women's Top Performances

Track
- The 4x400 meter relay team of freshman Alexandria Scott (Fredericksburg, Va.), junior Maya Turner (Midland, Va.), sophomore Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) and junior McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) finished 10th with a time of 4:08.08, breaking the previous program record by over four seconds. 

Field
- Senior Alyssa Chappell (Church Hill, Tenn.) was 11th in the high jump with a height of 1.46 meters.
- Senior Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) placed 11th in the shot put with a toss of 10.83 meters.
- Sophomore Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) took ninth in the triple jump, breaking her own program record with a distance of 11.11 meters.
